LifeStyle Plan™ (LSP) is a best-in-class personal finance SaaS application that is at the core of our service at Personal Financial Strategy. LSP is not consumer software and requires a personal finance manager to “drive” the program. Essentially, it does the heavy lifting of personal finance. LSP monitors all transactions, categorizing each and reporting back to our clients either on their cell phone app or by logging in to their LSP account from anywhere.
Yes. Personal Financial Strategy’s software partner platform, LifeStyle Plan™, connects to financial institutions through Plaid (Plaid currently connects with more than 12,000 financial institutions around the world), and we do not hold any of your credentials or sensitive information. Plaid provides secure connections to your financial institution to simply pass us transaction-related information. We never need your credentials or have access to any of your financial accounts.
We believe that personal finance is a process, not a one-time event. A new client will have 3 – 6 meetings with their dedicated professional in the first 3 months after onboarding. Then, most clients prefer quarterly meetings to assess and make any necessary midcourse adjustments.
No. We help you create and refine a day-to-day, month-to-month financial strategy that fuels your financial security. However, we are happy to refer our clients to professionals within our trusted network to help with investment, tax, or retirement planning.
Most major financial institutions use Plaid, a secure service that connects financial transaction data to LSP. However, there are some institutions that do not use it. If this is the case for any of your financial institutions, see “What are my options if I cannot connect?” below.
Institutions occasionally have downtime, especially brokerage firms that are doing heavy trading during the day. If you are unable to connect, try to connect again during the evening or early morning hours.
If you cannot connect an account, you can simply choose the option to manually input your balance, which can be updated periodically over time with your PFS professional.
If you are unsure, the easiest path is to open up a new browser window and go to your institution’s page where you can directly log on. Take note of your financial institution’s URL, and it will help you find the correct option to choose in our system.
